To meet the growing market in Brazil, especially with the expected demand by Petrobras (Bovespa: PETR3/PETR4, NYSE: PBR / PBRA, Latibex: XPBR / XPBRA, BCBA: APBR / APBRA) and the pre-salt layer, STX Europe will expand its shipbuilding capacity for Offshore & Specialized vessels by setting up a new shipyard. The yard will be located in Fortaleza, in the Ceará state of Brazil.

STX Europe entered the Brazilian market ten years ago, and has by continuous effort and excellent cooperation with its local partners PJMR developed a strong position to meet the demanding requirements of the oil and gas industry in Brazil.

The House of Representatives approved yesterday (2) in symbolic vote, the main text of the bill dealing with capitalization of Petrobras (Bovespa: PETR3/PETR4, NYSE: PBR / PBRA, Latibex: XPBR / XPBRA, BCBA: APBR / APBRA) for the exploration of oil and gas in the pre-salt layer, subject to amendments and highlights that aim to change the text. In the afternoon, party leaders have agreed to vote today (3) the amendments and highlights the project.

With the drilling of one well (6-BR-63A-RJS) Petrobras (Bovespa: PETR3/PETR4, NYSE: PBR / PBRA, Latibex: XPBR / XPBRA, BCBA: APBR / APBRA) has discovered two new oil reserves in reservoirs located in the Campos Basin, a post-salt and other pre-salt.
